Sketch Book
A sequel to the drawing I did for Adv. Art last year. Last years was titled "Stars and Boulevards", the title having not much to do with the actual drawing... I just liked the song (Stars and Boulevards by Augustana). Anyways, the drawing last year was about how we are playing a strategical game of life, attempting to reach our goals portrayed by the hanging stars, and also how in order to reach those dreams we sometimes have to forget authority and rules.
The drawing, Shattered Dreams (above), is the sequal becuase in some cases, it is too difficult to bend the rules in order to get what we want, or we are supressed by the authority figures to the point were we forget our dreams. Hence how the hand is almost reaching the star, yet because of supression it will never reach it, thus cracking and breaking up...

Beauty's True Thoughts
This is a strange potrait of Beauty (from Disney's Beauty and the Beast). In the drawing she has a sort of mad, deranged, possessed look to her, which is overly expressed by her larger than normal eyes and intense shading on one side of her face. Because I always thought that Bell really was a naughty girl and that she probably would have destroyed the rose, I wanted to show that evil, madness in her by distorting the proportions. The shading is darker on one side because of the light hitting her there, and it is just curved lines (going with the motion of her cheek). The lighting on the container where the rose floats is off, and will be fixed soon.
Peace Man
This is a sketch of my own hand for the free "texture" drawing. It uses texture in the dark creases at the knuckles and joints. THe nails have a light highlight in the nails toward the left (it may be hard to see in the scanned version...) and the shading moves from light to dark (left to right), curving in the shape of the hand and fingers. There is also texture in the bracelets, one beaded, one braided and one leather.
Arystar Krory the Third
Arystar Krory the Third is a character from D.Gray-Man, a Japanese manga written by Katsura Hoshino. I drew him a lot younger than his 28 years of age in the story, but oh well. Creative license, no?
He's one of my favorite characters, even with his whole mopy "oh woe is me, I accidently killed my lover" act. He is part of a society known as the "Black Order". There really isn't anything "black" about the Order other than their uniforms and their secret. The "Exorcists" fight creatures called "Akuma" which is Japanese for demon. Each of the Exorcists are equiped with a weapon; depending on the Exorcist the weapon is different. Arystar's weapon are his razor sharp teeth and is immunity to the poison in the Akumas' veins. He grows stronger with the more blood he intakes. Thus in his old hometown, he was believed to be a vampire for he was attacking the villagers. In reality he was attacking the Akuma, though at the time he didn't know what he was. It wasn't until Allen Walker and Lavi Bookman Jr, two other Exorcists arrive and sort things out does Arystar learn of his future. He teams up with Allen (who's weapon is a parasite arm, that transforms over time from claws, to a gun, to the "Crown Clown"), Lavi (weapon- a size-changing hammer), Kanda Yuu (weapon- a katana), Lenalee Lee (weapon- her boots known as "Dark Boots"), Miranda (weapon- a clock that stops time and puts out a sort of force field) and many others. Together they fight to stop the Millennium Earl and his henchmen, the Noah, from destroying the world with their Akuma.

Cousin
I wanted to do a self portrait of myself, but it started to look like one of my cousins so I left it at that. Unfortunetly she doesn't have short hair and I'm far to done with this drawing to correct it and make the drawing have long hair. And she doesn't have the bird's-nest-hair that I have. T_T
Self-Portrait
So a self portrait of me. Yay? I look kind of smug for no apparent reason. I believe at the time of the picture I was sick but I had to pretend that I was having the time of my life (it was at the massive Thanksgiving dinner I had with my family and friends).
Anyways I discovered some odd things about myself- that I have a trio of moles around my mouth and on my cheek that form a triangle, and that one of my eyes is always slightly more open then the other.
I believe this is the neatest looking my hair has looked in...forever. O_o Usually it looks like a bird tried to make a nest in it combined with a lion's mane.

Sherlock Holmes
I have a serious obsession with the movie "Sherlock Holmes" that came out last summer? Spring? I don't remember. Anyways, I think theat Robert Downey Jr. played an amazing Sherlock, and Jude Law was fantastic as Watson. So this is my tribute to the dynamic duo. Maybe I'll draw Law/Watson later...
January - Time of the Blue Mermaid
It has nothing to do with January- the original idea I had was going to be a more of a "Happy New Year's" picture, but I decided not to... Not sure what mermaids have to do with January, somewhere in my mind I guess they do.
One of my friends commented that mermaids have everything to do with January for they are the "aquatic Chuck Norris."
This is an ongoing project I am doing. I got tired one year as a kid of not having a calendar so I made my own. I only got to June but hey. This year each month has a theme, though sometimes it has nothing to do with its related month.
Hint for upcoming month- Chinese.....
